NEONYT: Multi-brand looks and fully packed rows at Editorial Fashion Show in Ewerk

Jan 15, 2019

A new concept, curated sustainable fashion and trendsetting themes: in the Editorial Fashion Show on 15 January 2019, Neonyt presented its neo-new view on fashion to an international audience at Ewerk Berlin.

Under the title “The Art of Assembling”, the Neonyt Trade Fair showcased a progressive mix of AW19/20 collections by sustainable fashion labels at Ewerk in Berlin during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Curated by Claudia Hofmann, renowned stylist and co-founder of the Fashion Council Germany, the outfits were matched to the individual personalities of the models and styled like in fashion magazine editorials. By doing so, Neonyt reflects the sign of the times: whether on Instagram or the high street, brands are being individually combined and mixed up. The show production was completed by the video “Drifting towards the unknown” by artist Carla Chan. Music and sound design by Nirto Karsten Fischer/Nsonics.

Hofmann’s styling depicted the trends Trabant, Modernists, Black Ink., Bright Light, Soft Toned and Azure. With all-over blue looks, Azure was a reference to the topic of water and fashion, the key theme of this year’s Neonyt. The looks were compiled from the new collections by established fair fashion brands like Ecoalf, Lanius and Philomena Zanetti in a progressive mix with high fashion by Berlin designer Vladimir Karaleev x After March and denim upcycling brand Fade Out. The outfits were rounded off with shoes by labels including Trippen and Velt, accessories by Spatz Hutdesign and Norwegian Rain, as well as shiny tights by Swedish Stockings and Wolford. Also featured in the show: sustainable fashion labels Buki Akomolafe, Hellmuth, Natascha von Hirschhausen, Sepideh Ahadi and Working Title, five of the ten finalists in the mentoring programme by the Fashion Council Germany for aspiring young designers, which is taking place in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt.

The audience rows at the Neonyt Fashion Show in Ewerk were packed full with international guests from the worlds of fashion, media, politics and business. And the atmosphere was also fantastic at Kraftwerk: many of the visitors used the opportunity to follow the live screening of the show. Afterwards, the Neonyt Party gave visitors the opportunity to come together and celebrate the first day of Berlin Fashion Week.
