Sustainability was the hot topic of Berlin Fashion Week. At Neonyt, the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation, representatives from the worlds of retail, industry and politics all came together to drive change in the fashion sector. With 170 exhibiting labels from 20 countries, from 2-4 July 2019 at Kraftwerk Berlin the trade show underlined its status as the world’s most important hotspot for progressive, sustainable fashion and technological innovations.

NEONYT: 10 years as THE global tradeshow for sustainable fashion
From 2-4 July 2019, Neonyt will transform Kraftwerk Berlin into the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation with 170 international labels, making the tradeshow the world’s biggest hotspot for progressive, sustainable fashion and technological innovations. Numerous speakers from renowned institutions and companies will be driving forward the change of fashion with unmissable talks and discussions on the issues that matter.
Neonyt: A three-day programme packed with renowned speakers
High-profile talks, discussion panels and workshops on four stages await the international audience of Berlin Fashion Week at the summer edition of Neonyt, which is taking place from 2-4 July 2019. For the latest news and views on the future topics of fashion, sustainability and innovation, Kraftwerk is the place to be once again. Noteworthy institutions and companies will be taking to the stage – including Candiani Denim, Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Stuttgart shopping centre Das Gerber, Katag, Lenzing, Otto Group, Ramelow, Tchibo, True Standard, the United Nations (UN), WWF and Zalando.
Neonyt: Sustainability – from the preliminary design phase to the finished product
The megatrends of digitalisation and customisation are posing major challenges for the fashion industry. But at the same time, they also hold enormous potential – in terms of sustainability, for example, and the return of production to Europe. In its Showcase on the upper floor, the upcoming edition of Neonyt (2-4 July, Kraftwerk Berlin) is demonstrating new approaches to fashion production and presenting two micro-factories on an area of more than 160 m².
Neonyt is showing how conventional retail and sustainable fashion go together
Eco fashion showcased and interpreted in a contemporary way – that is nothing new for Neonyt, the global hub for fashion, sustainability and innovation. Nevertheless, in conventional multi-label retail sustainable product ranges are still finding themselves relegated to the sidelines. During Berlin Fashion Week (2-4 July), the fashion fair at Kraftwerk will be focusing on the topic of retail with an accompanying conference line-up. Participants include Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Stuttgart shopping centre Das Gerber, Katag, Ramelow, Tchibo, True Standard, the United Nations (UN) and Zalando.
Neonyt Fashion Show: The best of sustainable fashion at E-Werk – at 10:00 am on 2 July
With a focus on denim, the Neonyt Fashion Show is bringing the very best of sustainable fashion to the MBFW catwalk at E-Werk. The show will be kicking off Neonyt on 2 July at 10:00 am. Presenting partners of the show are Dr. Hauschka, Lenzing and Oeko-Tex.

An extensive line-up of events and talks will provide valuable information and networking opportunities – by and with international trailblazers of the fashion industry. A particular focus of the July edition is the topic of retail.
FASHIONSUSTAIN: An offshoot of the Neonyt conference will be presented at Texprocess
On 14 May 2019, Fashionsustain Berlin, the conference that accompanies Neonyt, will be taking place for the first time with an offshoot at Texprocess in Frankfurt am Main. In round table sessions, industry leaders such as Lenzing, Perpetual Global and Procalçado S.A. will be encouraging an interdisciplinary discussion about future-proof solutions for the industry.
Results of Neonyt Thinkathon, ideas think-tank of the future
At the most recent edition of the Thinkathon on 14 and 15 January 2019 in Berlin, 40 international experts took on tasks set by the challenge hosts Bikini Berlin, Otto Group and TCBL. During the innovative workshop format, which was organised by Messe Frankfurt as part of the Neonyt trade fair, six multidisciplinary teams came up with sustainable business strategies and forward-looking concepts on the subjects of the circular economy, experience retail and industry 4.0 within 48 hours.
