Fashionsustain: digitisation and dialogue are the key to lasting transformation in the fashion industry
From A for “avatar” to Z for “zero impact” – during Neonyt’s Fashionsustain conference from 6 to 8 July 2021, the status quo of the textiles and fashion sector was examined, innovation drivers identified and scope for action for the retail sector defined. The multidisciplinary conference streamed more than 20 hours of inspiration and insights, panel discussions and fashion deep-dives live from the FFW Studio. Participants included Grüner Knopf, Oeko-Tex, PwC and the Transformers Foundation.
Fashionsustain goes FFW: a three-day agenda for the textile and fashion industry
The textiles and fashion sector is currently undergoing a fundamental revolution – driven by sustainable and technological innovations, new value creation models are reaching the mass market. It is precisely these topics that will be at the focus of Fashionsustain, the international and multidisciplinary conference format of Neonyt, which is taking place from 6 to 8 July 2021 and, for the first time, during the digital FFW STUDIO of Frankfurt Fashion Week. In the form of panel discussions, talks, keynotes and interactive formats, it will present fascinating, in-depth insights into the ongoing transformation process of the industry. Represented are, amongst others the Grüner Knopf, Oeko-Tex and PwC.
Quo vadis, fair fashion? Sustainable development in the international fashion and textiles sector on the radar at Neonyt
As the name suggests, Neonyt conference Fashionsustain is all about taking sustainable action: from 6 to 8 July 2021, it will span three days of the digital FFW Studio line-up with strictly sustainable innovation input from the international textile and fashion industry. Cooperation is not just a buzzword here, but the key to success, with Neonyt partners Common Objective, Häuser der Mode, Hessnatur and Oeko-Tex as welcome collaborators.
Digital summer season: Neonyt brings sustainability to streaming line-up of new Frankfurt Fashion Week Studio
While trade fairs, events and catwalk shows are all on hold, digital formats are continuing to keep us up to date. The ongoing health risks and the latest decisions made by the German government regarding COVID-19 unfortunately make it impossible to hold the physical debut of Frankfurt Fashion Week from 5 to 9 July 2021. And so it’s now official: there will be no face-to-face event for the Neonyt community this summer. In the meantime, the new FFW Studio will become the digital meeting place for all fashion professionals.
“Neonyt on Air”: The future of fashion is transparent and authentic – also in a digital context
For the past week, the Neonyt community has been live and on air – from 18-22 January 2021, the focus of numerous panel discussions and interviews was on how to encourage more transparency and sustainability in the textile and fashion industry. Playing a key role in the digital event were its “Presenting Partners” Grüner Knopf, Hessnatur and Oeko-Tex.
Fashion and sustainability amid the pandemic – the line-up of digital event “Neonyt on Air” 2021
From 18 to 22 January 2021, digital community format “Neonyt on Air” will be entering its second round. As well as its “Presenting Partners” Grüner Knopf, Hessnatur and Oeko-Tex, various fashion, digital and lifestyle experts will be discussing ways to achieve more transparency in the textile and fashion industry. Personalities from the worlds of politics, IT and finance will also be providing important input on sustainable innovations.
“Neonyt on Air”: shaping the future of sustainable fashion together – the Neonyt community shows how it's done
The Grüner Knopf (Green Button) government-run certification label by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, German fair fashion pioneer Hessnatur and the Oeko-Tex Association, partner for certification systems, are the “Presenting Partners” of digital community format “Neonyt on Air”. From 18-22 January 2021, representatives from these organisations and several other speakers from the sustainability fashion scene will be discussing a transparent textile value chain and everything it entails: from accountability, transparency and green financing to sustainable sourcing and blockchain solutions.
Neonyt is going back “on air” – No physical winter edition in January 2021
The ongoing, difficult situation surrounding COVID-19 and the latest decisions made by the German government are once again making it impossible to plan Neonyt – and as a result, the physical event, from 19-21 January 2021, will no longer be taking place. A small consolation: the digital community format “Neonyt On Air” will be entering into its second round instead.
Let’s work together: Connected globally, socially distanced locally – Neonyt is showing how it’s done!
How does collaboration work in the fashion industry and particularly in times of social distancing? When tried-and-tested solutions and established yearly plans no longer fit the bill, it’s time to start setting new priorities. And the winter edition of Neonyt from 19-21 January 2021 in Berlin will be demonstrating what this can look like.

Collaboration is key: Neonyt joins forces with B2B online marketplaces for summer
An increase in exhibitor numbers, twice as many professional visitors and the topic of sustainability more present than ever before – that was the résumé of Neonyt in January. And the plan was to top that even further at the summer edition in June 2020. But the coronavirus pandemic thwarted the plans of the event’s organiser Messe Frankfurt. And now it is clear that a virtual edition of Neonyt will not be taking place in summer either.
The people behind the masks
In the global fight against the coronavirus, the year 2020 has so far been defined by four simple but important rules: stay at home, wash your hands, keep a distance in public spaces and wear a mask. While other regulations such as strict lockdown measures are currently being eased, the wearing of protective masks is meanwhile compulsory in many countries, including Germany – at least when shopping or travelling on public transport. And the fashionable aspect of the masks is playing a role too.
